Heading back soon from a successful winter in Nevada and Northern California, steelhead fishing on the Trinity River and the Truckee.  The photo is proof that barbless hooks and catch and release work!  See you soon back on the Au Sable!

About Me

I've been fly fishing and fly tying for 45 years in Alaska, Maine, Colorado and on the Au Sable River in Grayling, MI.  I'm currently wintering in Reno, NV and fishing the rivers and lakes of Northern California and Nevada, working on a Master's Degree out at Pyramid Lake, and returning to Grayling every spring.

I tie custom trout flies, sell materials, including Norvice Fly Tying Vices, and offer lessons in fly tying and fly fishing.  Come visit us on the corner of North Down River Rd and Stephan Bridge Rd about 10 miles east of Grayling, MI, 2 miles north of M-72.  We're open from the last Saturday in April through October 1st.  Give me a call at 989-745-2480 if you'd like help or need to know river conditions.
